The Year 6 cricket teams headed over to Carrington Cricket Club to take part in one of the two city finals with a place in the county finals at stake. Click here to find out how they did in the competition (the photograph in the slideshow at the top may give one of the results away!). Tomorrow is one of the most eagerly awaited days of the year for the Year 6 children: the sneak preview of their James Bond film! There will be a parents' screening later in the year and a showing in school for the rest of Key Stage 2. Over the last few days, the children have been designing film posters to persuade people to watch their film; filmed a documentary about the character of Bond and their film; written persuasive letters to the film's director putting their artwork forward for inclusion on the DVD release and finally started to look at how graphic novels are made from the book counterparts! Phew, what an exhausting week straight after SATs! Year 6 have spent the previous 3 days preparing for and then filming their own version of a James Bond film. Click here to see more photos, and work produced by the children. Our Giving Page for the Sport Relief Mile now stands at a stupendous £900. This is absolutely amazing - thank you to everyone who sponsored us! This takes us past our record total of £1500 set three years ago for Red Nose Day. This wouldn't have been possible without everyone's generosity, willingness to give up time and energy and the teamwork and commitment shown by the whole school community! Thank you again! What a weekend! Just for the Welsh boys in Year 5, here's a special picture. This afternoon, the Year 5 and 6 Rugby team played in a competition at Highfields against schools which had more than one team. We did incredibly well, winning one match and drawing another. Head over to the Year 5 blog for more pictures. They are back and heading home for a rest! Hope you all had an 'awesome' week and we're sure that the stories will not stop on Monday. We can't wait to hear all about it guys! Click here to hop over to the final sets of photos! After many months of waiting, the Year 5 and 6s who are going to Colomendy can pack their bags and prepare for a week of adrenaline filled adventures. We will hopefully add information throughout the week but the internet connection is not great at the centre. Look here for the last trip and the photos from then (this links to our old website which is no longer maintained).
The football team achieved their first victory of 2014 last night - beating Mellers 2 - 1 with Jahrel scoring both goals. In the first match against Mellers, the final score was 1-1.
Sport Relief is on its way again. Very soon, we will be taking part in running events, selling wristbands, making things to sell and generally having a great time whilst raising money for people who are less fortunate than us. While you wait, take a look at these Sport Relief games you can play! |
Newsletters will be sent out via ClassDojo.
