If you would like to practice reading with your child during the holidays, try this high frequency word flashcard task. A child in Year 2 should be aiming to read all of these words. Click the 'Play' button on the show to randomly move through the 150 words. If this 'macro' won't run (because of security settings or because the show is not running in PowerPoint itself), the slides are in a random order.
Curiosity Quest additional question: Which word(s) appear more than once?

Year 2 showcased their Superhero work on Thursday morning. Head over to the Year 2 blog for more information!
Tomorrow is one of the most eagerly awaited days of the year for the Year 6 children: the sneak preview of their James Bond film! There will be a parents' screening later in the year and a showing in school for the rest of Key Stage 2. Over the last few days, the children have been designing film posters to persuade people to watch their film; filmed a documentary about the character of Bond and their film; written persuasive letters to the film's director putting their artwork forward for inclusion on the DVD release and finally started to look at how graphic novels are made from the book counterparts! Phew, what an exhausting week straight after SATs! Year 6 have spent the previous 3 days preparing for and then filming their own version of a James Bond film. Click here to see more photos, and work produced by the children. Lots of brilliant books to buy! Last day on Monday 17th of March. Open 12.30pm until 1pm and after school from 3.40pm until the end of Parents' Evening.
Year 6 visited Newstead Abbey to discover an amazing place and to build up their setting for an adventure story. More photos to follow on the Year 6 Blog page! |
