Year 6, please remember that you are on a trip to The Broadway Cinema tomorrow and so you will need a packed lunch to take with you.
After having one inspirational visitor on Wednesday, we had a second one on Thursday: Offrande Zanzala, who left our school in 2008. Over the intervening time, Offrande has been working incredibly hard to make his way through the ranks at Derby County FC and this season, he is hoping to break into the first team. We will all be supporting him and be cheering him on when he makes his debut. He is currently coming back from a major injury which he suffered almost a year ago. We are incredibly proud of his success and a lot of the children in school now have a new footballing hero! Marcellus Baz visited us this week. He was awarded the highly prestigious Sports Personality of The Year Unsung Hero award in December. He talked to us about how he had made bad decisions when he was at school and how he had to change his life dramatically. He then explained what he is doing now and how he works with young people in inner city areas to help them succeed.
Beat The Street is back. We appear to be in a bigger battle with Victoria Primary School this year than last, so we need all the help that we can get. Get out there and Beat those streets so that we can invest more money in PE equipment. The exercise bikes we bought last year have been used incessantly since they arrived - this year we would like to extend our range of table tennis equipment.
One of our students was involved in a heart-warming story, reported by the Nottingham Evening Post. Please note, this link takes you to an external website, which the content of which we cannot control. |
